Interested in a Professional Development

We hold trainings all over the country. We offer trainings opportunities throughout the year. Training groups are kept small on purpose. We like groups between 10-30. Make your reservations as soon as possible. We offer discounts for groups with a minimum of 10 participants. We take our show on the road so if you are interested in that option, let us know!

Wondering what kind of PD opportunties we offer? We have over free 120 units and we can provide PD on any of them! Browse the link with all of the lesson unit titles and reach out to us for more details. We walk participants through the activities and help them clearly understand all of the curriculum before they return to their district or school to use it.

We also can provide PD on how to work with ELL students, designing effective programs for students at risk, afterschool program design, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs),summer programming, and much more. See below some samples of a few trainings based off of our curriculums.

Fiber Fest!

This is a tradition that we look forward to each year. This two day training teaches participants how to take soft wool fiber and turn it into some absolutely amazing projects.

We’ll dye wool a rainbow of hues using natural dyes made from roots, barks, flowers, and nuts as well as food grade dyes and even Kool-Aid! Learn the science of what is happening to the wool in the process and be prepared to show a completely new art medium to your students.

Using simple tools (including rocks!) we’ll practice an incredible form of sculpture as participants learn how to needle felt as well as wet felt. Wool undergoes a magical transformation when you add heat, friction and soap. Every year participants create incredible creatures and creations that will make people ask, “How did you do that?!”
And you can incorporate everything you learn in the classroom with our full curriculum based on color theory, and felting that we will share with you.

So much more than just ‘arts & crafts,’ this in-depth guide contains instruction in Reading, Math, History, Science, and Engineering, as well as Art! It is easily adaptable to students of all grade levels.

Junk Bots! (Robots)

STEM and robotics go hand and hand. But…we don't all usually have the luxury of a lot of extra money to purchase robotics kits. So, what do we do when we want to study or teach robotics? How can we solve our problem? One man’s trash is another man’s tech! We may not all have money, but we all have a lot of things laying around that would make great robots!

This training and our K-12 curriculum unit covers a myriad of concepts related to robots and problem based learning including how to make a junkbot become a functional robot!

Come and learn together as we walk you through a very hands on, fun, economical, and engaging adventure as we discover the past (and the future of ) robotics and learn to never throw out a good idea!

Plan on a day of fun and tech!

Monsters Ink!

Do you have students that struggle at writing? Do they moan and groan when you ask them to put something on paper? Come and learn how to put those moans and groans to better use!

It’s time for students to start a tale as old as slime and create their own 3D ‘pulp fiction’! We’ll be crafting perfectly monstrous characters and fantastic beasts and then crafting tales with 3D settings and flippable ‘story boards’ that will keep ‘bored’ far from these stories!

This training will walk you through a curriculum that will keep all of your kids in summer school writing, reading and actually enjoying it! We have awesome technology tools to help bring their stories to life. Be prepared for a monstrously great time! Our curriculum will be given to all participants as well as the standards alignment for each grade level, the supply list, schedules for use in a summer school or afterschool program and more!
